Which encoders can send both RTMP and SRT?
Most current phone apps, hardware encoders and OBS Studio can send RTMP, SRT or both. Moblin, Larix Broadcaster and IRL Pro name both protocols on their own pages; the Blackmagic Streaming Encoder, ATEM Mini Pro and Extreme, AJA HELO Plus, Magewell Ultra Encode AIO and Sony FX2 list both in their specs or help guides; OBS Studio sends RTMP to a stream key and SRT to a Custom srt:// address.
Only a few of them can also bond several connections: Moblin and IRL Pro list SRTLA, and BELABOX is built around it. The rest send a single connection, so on a mobile network they depend on that one link.
Streamable (streamable.run) is a cloud-hosted OBS service. You send your encoder's feed to a Streamable ingest, and Cloud OBS sends the finished stream to Twitch, Kick and YouTube. Streamable's own setup guide recommends SRT where the device supports it and keeps RTMP for devices that do not.
The list: protocols by device
Each row comes from the vendor's own page, linked from the device name. "Not listed" means the vendor page we checked does not mention it, not that the device cannot do it. Check the current spec sheet before you buy, because vendors change firmware and models.

RTMP or SRT: which should you send?
If the device offers both, SRT is the better first choice on a mobile or shaky connection. SRT can retransmit lost packets, and on a venue network you can test it before you go live. RTMP is the widest-supported option and the simplest to set up, so it is the right choice for cameras and encoders that only offer RTMP, and for a quick backup path.
Test the connection and a backup path before the public stream.
SRTLA is SRT carried over several links at once. The project describes it as an SRT transport proxy that bonds multiple network links for capacity and redundancy, intended for bonding mobile modems. If you walk, ride or travel with your stream, a bonding app or box is the feature to look for, not just SRT.
Setup guides for the devices in the table
We have a Streamable setup guide for most of these. They show how to connect each device to a Streamable ingest and keep the public stream running from Cloud OBS.
Next step
Pick the device that matches how you stream, then add it as an ingest in Streamable. The setup guide above shows the exact settings for each one.
Are you an IRL streamer? Give Streamable a try!
Here's how Streamable helps you stay live:
- Premium Cloud Streaming Servers
- Stream Drop Protection with Clips Player

Does OBS support SRT?
Yes. OBS's own guide says to set the Service to Custom and enter the address as srt://IP:port, with the stream key left blank. It also says OBS accepts any protocol that relies on the MPEG-TS container and is supported by FFmpeg.
Which phone apps support both RTMP and SRT?
Moblin on iOS lists RTMP, RTMPS, SRT, SRTLA and RIST. Larix Broadcaster on iOS and Android lists RTMP, RTMPS and SRT, plus RIST and RTSP. IRL Pro's site describes sending to any RTMP or SRT destination and lists SRTLA bonding.
What is the difference between SRT and SRTLA?
SRT is a single-connection protocol. SRTLA carries SRT over several connections at once, such as multiple modems, so the stream can keep going if one link weakens. A device needs to support SRTLA specifically; plain SRT support does not include it.
