IRL bitrate calculator for Twitch, Kick and YouTube
The bitrate, keyframe and audio settings each platform asks for, with the source for every number. Pick your platform, resolution and phone connection, then copy the settings.
Twitch · 1080p, 60 fps
- Video bitrate
- 6,000 kbps
- Frame rate
- 60 or 50 fps
- Rate control
- CBR
- Keyframe interval
- 2 s
- Codec
- H.264 (x264 or NVENC)
- Audio
- AAC-LC, stereo or mono, 96 kbps recommended (max 160 kbps)
- SRT latency, phone to Streamable
- 6,000 ms, Streamable's default for Moblin, bonded (SRTLA). You can change it.
It's always better to have a stable stream than to push for a higher video quality that might cause you to drop frames or test the limits of your internet connection.

Stream from your phone with drop protection
Mobile signal comes and goes. If your phone's connection drops, Streamable can keep your stream live with a fallback scene until it reconnects.
Create a free Streamable accountOn Streamable, your stream's output bitrate can go up to 6,000 kbps, or up to 9,000 kbps with Max. Compare plans
What each platform publishes
These are the platforms' own numbers. When a platform gives a range or leaves something out, we show exactly that.

Questions
Why does Kick show a range instead of one number?
Kick's help page lists one range, 1,000 to 8,000 kbps, for every resolution up to 1080p at 60 fps. It doesn't give a value per resolution, so neither do we.
Should I use CBR or VBR?
CBR. Twitch, Kick and YouTube all ask for constant bitrate, and Kick doesn't support VBR.
What keyframe interval should I use?
2 seconds on all three platforms. YouTube asks you not to go above 4 seconds.
What is SRT latency, and why is it higher for bonded connections?
It's the time the link from your phone to the server keeps to resend lost video. Streamable starts a single SRT connection at 1,500 ms and bonded Moblin and IRL Pro connections at 6,000 ms. You can change it on the Ingests page.
Where do these numbers come from?
From each platform's own help page, checked October 18, 2026, and from Streamable's own defaults for SRT latency. Every source is linked on this page.
