Streamable Alerts and Chat Overlay vs StreamElements and Streamlabs
One browser source for Twitch and Kick alerts, and one for chat from Twitch, Kick and YouTube. How Streamable compares with StreamElements and Streamlabs widgets.
Written by Nang Ang
Hey there! Streamable helps IRL streamers stay live through brief connection drops. Features include Premium Cloud Streaming Servers, Stream Drop Protection, Clips Players, Remote OBS, Multiple Ingests, Collaborative Streaming, DDoS protection, and much more! If you're a streamer, let us help you out!
Which alerts and chat overlay should you use for Twitch and Kick?
Streamable (streamable.run) gives you two plain browser sources: a Chat Overlay that puts Twitch, Kick and YouTube chat in one transparent source, and a Stream Alerts source for Twitch and Kick events. StreamElements (streamelements.com) and Streamlabs (streamlabs.com) are larger widget platforms, with theme galleries and custom widgets, and both now support Kick.
If you want alerts and chat on stream with the least setup and no theme work, Streamable's two sources are enough. If you want a designed alert pack, goal bars, tip pages or custom-coded widgets, StreamElements or Streamlabs gives you more to work with. You can also mix: use Streamable for chat and one of them for alerts.

Sources, all read on 2026-11-05: Streamable's current code and live /free-chat-overlay page; docs.streamelements.com (overlays, and the Sept 13, 2026 KICKs changelog); streamlabs.com/stream-widgets/alert-box; support.streamlabs.com (Kick-only article, from 2025, may have changed). "Not documented in the sources we checked" means what it says: confirm in the vendor's dashboard.
How Streamable's two sources work
Chat Overlay. Create a free Streamable account, open Chat Overlay, turn on Twitch, Kick or YouTube (the first time, you sign in to that platform), copy your Browser Source URL and add it to OBS as a browser source. You can show any mix of platforms, hide the platform icon beside each message with Hide Platform Badge, and pause chat with Enable Chat Overlay without touching OBS. It works with desktop OBS and with Streamable's Remote OBS. Full steps: How to Set Up Chat Overlay and the free chat overlay page.
Stream Alerts. Open Alerts, connect a Twitch or Kick account (the page asks you to reconnect if alert permissions are missing), enable alerts and copy the private browser source URL. Set the source to 640 × 360. You can switch individual alert types on or off, and set sound and volume. Test buttons send a sample alert to the preview and to your OBS source. If the URL leaks, Reset link replaces it and the old one stops working, so update OBS afterward.
Alert types: followers, subscriptions, resubscriptions and gift subscriptions on both Twitch and Kick; Bits, raids, ad breaks, Hype Trains, polls and charity donations on Twitch; KICKs gifts on Kick. YouTube is not an alert source in Streamable today.
What StreamElements and Streamlabs offer on Kick
StreamElements' September 13, 2026 changelog says "KICKs gifts now show up across StreamElements": in the activity feed, as a dedicated alert, in new overlay widgets and custom widget keys, in chat announcements and in dashboard totals. Its docs also say overlays render through a single browser source, with no coding required to get started and fully custom-coded widgets available.
Streamlabs says its Alert Box is free for all users and that its themes work with Twitch, YouTube, Kick, X, Facebook, Patreon and Tiltify. A Streamlabs support article from September 2025 lists limits when you log in with Kick only: Kick alerts can't be edited from Streamlabs Desktop, the Test Widgets button doesn't work for Kick alerts, and Streamlabels can't be added. It was marked as investigating at the time; check the current page before deciding.
What they have that Streamable doesn't: theme galleries, deeper visual customization, and for custom-coded widgets, code. What Streamable has that is simpler: one chat source for three platforms and a short list of alert settings.
A simple setup for a Kick and Twitch streamer
1. Add the Streamable Chat Overlay URL as a browser source and enable Twitch and Kick.
2. Add the Streamable Alerts URL as a second browser source at 640 × 360, then press the test buttons for each platform before going live.
3. If you want custom alert art, add that vendor's Alert Box and turn off the matching alert types in Streamable so each follow or sub appears once.
4. If you stream IRL from a phone, add both sources to your Remote OBS scene. See chat and alert overlays in Remote OBS.

Optional: Deep-Dive FAQ
Open only if you still need extra troubleshooting context.
Is Streamable's Chat Overlay free?
Yes. Streamable's free chat overlay page says it works with a free Streamable account, with no plan or trial needed.
Does StreamElements support Kick alerts?
Yes. Its docs describe Kick follower, subscriber, tip and gifted-sub alerts, and a September 13, 2026 changelog added KICKs gift alerts and widgets. If KICKs events don't arrive for a channel connected earlier, StreamElements says logging in again should fix it.
Does Streamlabs Alert Box work with Kick?
Streamlabs lists Kick among the platforms its Alert Box themes work with. A support article from September 2025 described limits for Kick-only logins in Streamlabs Desktop, including that Test Widgets doesn't work for Kick alerts, so check the current page.
Can I use Streamable alerts and a StreamElements overlay together?
Yes. They are separate browser sources. Turn off the matching alert types in one of them so a follow or sub doesn't show twice.
Does Streamable's Alerts page support YouTube?
No. Stream Alerts supports Twitch and Kick accounts. YouTube chat can still appear in the Chat Overlay.
