Who is CookSux?

CookSux is the Twitch name of Andy, a Korean-American IRL adventure streamer with about 109,000 Twitch followers as of October 2026. He is known for streaming whole days of travel, often ten hours or more, from places like South Korea, China, Vietnam, Peru and Brazil.

Before streaming he spent twelve years working in film and television production. He left it to tell his own stories live, and his Twitch bio sums up the plan in one line: he is there for a good time and a long time.

How did CookSux get into streaming?

In a 2023 StreamElements interview, Andy said he worked in film and television for twelve years and came to dread it. The days ran sixteen hours, and the job had become scheduling, vendor deals and hiring, when what he had wanted from the business was to tell stories. He quit and made, in his words, a series of leaps of faith.

He was about four and a half years into streaming when he gave that interview in October 2023, which puts his start around 2019. By his own account, his first year as a Twitch streamer was spent stuck in South Korea because of Covid. He has said he made friends there he now thinks of as family.

Korea has stayed part of the channel. In December 2023, after a day of calls with his Twitch Korea friends about the platform's troubles there, he posted a long message to Korean streamers and their international viewers, calling himself an American streamer with deep ties to Korea.

The goals: Korea's tallest mountain, a Niagara crawl, Loch Ness

Andy has said he plans streams around things he wants to do in life, not around metrics. He named two favorites in the 2023 interview. One was climbing to the peak of Korea's tallest mountain and getting back down, a twelve-hour day. The other was crawling from his hotel across Niagara Falls in a nine-hour stream.

On his wish list at the time were hunting for the Loch Ness Monster and streaming from every continent in one calendar year.

His Instagram bio is more modest. It calls him just another idiot with a camera and keeps a running tally of countries visited, which read 44 of 195 in October 2026.

Asia streams, May5w and a kitten in Shanghai

A lot of his Asia travel has been with fellow IRL streamer May5w. In February 2023 Dexerto covered a stream from an amusement park in Vietnam, where the safety bar on a roller coaster would not lock. Andy rode it with only a seatbelt while chat typed that it was his last stream. He told park staff afterward, and they laughed.

In March 2024 the two were in Shanghai at the start of a two-week China trip when they found an abandoned kitten with an eye infection and took it to a vet. Dexerto reported that the shelter would find it a home or keep caring for it.

In July 2023 Dexerto also picked up a clip of Andy talking with chat about eating Asian food as a kid. He said he once tried to convince himself he was white, and called it an identity crisis.

What is CookSux streaming now?

His Twitch video list in early October 2026 reads like a South American itinerary. Streams titled IRL Mexico covered Merida and Cancun. IRL Peru followed, with days in Lima, Cusco, Ollantaytambo and Machu Picchu. After that came IRL Chile, including a run of streams from Easter Island under the pun Mhystery, one of them 13 hours long.

The most recent broadcasts are from Rio de Janeiro under the title IRL Brazil, one of them over eleven hours. His Instagram bio also said he was in Brazil at the time.

On YouTube he has about 102,000 subscribers on the main channel as of October 2026. He also runs a VOD archive and smaller channels for food, toys, games, travel and clips.
